We are Volunteers of America.

We are the first to step forward.

At VOA Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho, we specialize in providing care to youth and adults with housing first solutions and low barrier access to services, because homelessness shouldn’t be a life sentence. For over 125 years, we have been uplifting individuals and communities including, disabled adults, veterans as well as pregnant and parenting teens helping them to weather life’s storms. Our work touches the mind, body, heart – and ultimately the spirit – of those we serve, integrating our deep compassion with highly effective programs and services.

Volunteers of America is one of the nation’s largest, established comprehensive human services organizations with 16,000 mission-driven professionals, dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. Founded in 1896, in 46 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, serving more than 1.5 million people a year.

When Volunteers of America was founded in 1896, "volunteer" referred to anyone who served others as a vocation through a commitment to a mission. Today, we are still staffed by mission-driven professionals working to (empower individuals and) build thriving communities.

Who We Are

Volunteers of America serves people in our community - walking besides them as they become stable and reach their full potential.
