Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us.
VOA Volunteers and COVID-19
Last updated 3-19-20 12:21pm
Beginning March 19, for the next 30 days, Volunteers of America of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho is temporarily suspending any volunteer shifts at all of our locations.
While we rely on your support and your assistance in our daily operations as the situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve we are doing all we can to encourage social distancing to help slow the spread of the virus. We are making this decision with your safety in mind, as well as the safety of our staff and our community at large. We will reevaluate the situation in 30 days to determine whether we can resume regular volunteer engagement, and we will alert you.
Please take care of yourselves; follow the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and our city officials. We appreciate you and your dedication to serving our community as a VOA volunteer and look forward to seeing you back with us soon!
We are grateful to the 800 volunteers who give more than 16,000 of service each year in our various programs and many of whom become deeply involved in the success of our work. We are excited to extend to you an opportunity to make your community a better place.
We invite you to donate your time, your talents, and your skills to bettering the lives of the most vulnerable living in our Spokane and Kootenai Counties. Please note that at Volunteers of America, we strive to be sensitive to the needs of all the individuals with whom we work. For this reason, we feel it is critical that we select volunteers that are able to connect well with our clients and amplify success in the volunteer work in which they are engaged.
No matter what kind of volunteer opportunity you choose—whether you provide a meal, sort clothing or offer your expertise—when you volunteer you will experience the joy of serving and make a difference that fosters positive change in our community.
