Administrative Volunteer

  • Duties: Assist with projects including data entry, filing, mailings, etc.

Afternoon Shelter Volunteer

  • Duties: Interact with our teens by talking, playing games, watching movies, helping with school work, etc.
  • Location: Crosswalk (Downtown Spokane)

After-school Activity Leader

  • Duties: Host an after-school activity.
  • Location: Crosswalk (Downtown Spokane)

Apartments for Young Families Volunteer

  • Duties: Volunteers are needed to help with childcare and tutoring or to serve as positive role model/mentors.
  • Location: Aston-Bleck Apts (Northeast of Downtown Spokane)

Beautification Crew

  • Duties: Organize a group to help with painting, household repairs, yard work, gardening, cleaning, etc.
  • Location: Varies

Childcare Assistant

  • Duties: Babysit or play games with children while their mothers attend school, work, meetings or trainings.
  • Location: Aston-Bleck Apts (Northeast of Downtown Spokane)

Clothing Bank Organizer

  • Duties: Monitor clothing bank and sort donations into appropriate categories. Hang up and put away clothing.

Evening Shelter Volunteer

  • Duties: Assist staff with check-in of shelter guests.

Event Volunteer

Food Bank Volunteer

  • Duties: Assist staff with distributing food to apartment residents.

Grant Researcher/Writing Assistant

Holiday Helper

  • Duties: Gather holiday gifts, put Crosswalk kids' wishes on a giving tree or hold a drive for items on the holiday wish list.

Housekeeping Volunteer

  • Duties: Help with general housekeeping duties to help keep the shelter clean.
  • Location: Hope House (Downtown Spokane)

Life Skills Instructor

  • Duties: Teach a life skill such as resume building, budgeting, etc.
  • Location: Aston-Bleck Apts (Northeast of Downtown Spokane)

Marketing Volunteer

  • Duties: Assist with marketing, advertising and publicity of various events.

Maternity Home Volunteer

  • Duties: Interact with young mothers through activities, spending time and listening.
  • Location: Alexandria’s House (Northeast of Downtown Spokane)

Meal Provider

  • Duties: Organize a groups of 3-5 people prepare and serve a meal at our teen shelter.
  • Location: Crosswalk (Downtown Spokane)

Mentor

  • Duties: Become a mentor for a teenager or young adult who is in foster care.
  • Location: Foster Youth Programs (Downtown Spokane)

Morning Shelter Volunteer

  • Duties: Assist staff with waking up shelter guests, preparing morning snacks, supervision and check-out.
  • Location: Hope House (Downtown Spokane)

Photographer

  • Duties: Take stock photos of our facilities, clients, staff and/or events
  • Location: Varies

Plan-Your-Own Fundraiser

  • Duties: Plan a fundraiser (car wash, rummage sale, etc.) to benefit one of our programs.
  • Location: Anywhere

Plan-Your-Own Wish list Drive

Receptionist

  • Duties: Provide general reception and secretarial support.
  • Location: Hope House (Downtown Spokane)

Women's Shelter Volunteer
