| Volunteers of America provides services and supports to people with mental illness throughout our programs. Sometimes these individuals enter our services in nontraditional ways, maybe through homelessness, substance abuse or a family crisis. But regardless of how a person comes to us, we believe that all individuals should be treated with respect and dignity and receive the individualized resources they need to reach their full potential. That is why our programs assist both youth and adults who face significant and persistent mental illness, empowering both victims and caregivers to live peacefully in their families or independently in their communities. |
