Volunteers of America is fortunate to host and Early Head Start site at its downtown Spokane headquarters. The program provides high-quality child-development services to preschool children (birth through age five) and their low-income families.
The Early Head Start program was established to provide comprehensive child development services to economically disadvantaged children and families, with a special focus on helping the children of homeless teens who are attending school themselves. We engage parents in every aspect of their child’s learning process and support them in making progress toward their educational, literacy and employment goals.
Head Start is a national program that promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, social and other services to enrolled children and families.
