Coeur d’Alene, Idaho—Local blues favorite Coolstack will headline at the Coeur d’Alene Eagles Lodge (209 E Sherman) on Saturday, October 2, 2010, (7-midnight) as part of the Inland Empire Blues Society’s 11th annual Lake City Blues Benefit. Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased at the door or by calling 208.676.0772. All proceeds benefit Kootenai County at-risk youth through Project Safe Place. Steve Livingston & Triple Shot as well as Delta Preachers will also perform.

This event offers a rip-roarin’ good time on the dance floor of the CDA Eagle’s Lodge. In addition to great music, there will be lots of dancing, food, drinks and a silent auction including items from Cisco’s, Coeur d’Alene Casino, Kayak Coeur d’Alene, Les Schwab, Shiloh Inn, Sports Cellar, The Long Ear, and more. Tickets are just $15 and all proceeds benefit at-risk youth through Project Safe Place.

This year’s lineup opens with the Delta Preachers. Dave Allen and Jeff Aker are an amazing duo. Each is outstanding in his own right, but together they are incredible. Up next is Cool Stack. They always give a great show thanks to the award-winning vocals of Janice “JJ” White paired with Dave Lee’s keyboard, vocals and harmonica and they have added Sean Gunn on vocals and saxophone. What a trio. Holding down the rhythm is the guitar of Rod Browning, bass of Steve Springer and the beat is laid down by Kim Bjornsen. Cool Stack is a killer R & B band that will keep you on your feet the whole time.

But that isn’t all; Steve Livingston and Triple Shot will closing out the show. A hard edgy and rocking band, they will get your blood pumping in no time. This band, driven by the vocals of Steve Livingston and his guitar, just tears it up. Woody Wright at guitar and vocals doubles the power. Greg Shutt on bass and Marty Boe on drums holding down the backside really sets up this band. If you haven’t seen them yet you shouldn’t miss this opportunity. This is a really high-energy band. They will keep you up all night dancing.

Project Safe Place is a multi-service prevention and outreach program that provides immediate help and supportive resources for youth in crisis, including kids and teens who are at risk of separating from their families or becoming homeless, lacking safe transportation or supervision after school, being abused at home, struggling in school, being bullied at school or just feel unsafe.

In addition to a 24-hour helpline (208.676.0772) the program offers a drop-in center with after-school activities, meals, clothing bank and mentoring. Youth can access the program almost anywhere in Kootenai County thanks to more than 150 local businesses and community buildings that display the yellow-and-black Safe Place sign, telling youth they can come inside for help. Once inside, a Safe Place volunteer or staff member arranges transportation and connects the youth to counseling, emergency host home services or other help as needed.
