Jim Green

Jim Green

Jim Green began working with Volunteers of America as a Crosswalk volunteer in 2002 and became part of the paid staff in 2003. Jim stays busy—he currently works as an administrative assistant, emergency services specialist, HomeFinders case manager and Crosswalk shelter support staff and has worked at Flaherty House in the past. Jim has a degree in sociology and spent ten years working at the Interlake School for developmentally disabled children and adults in Medical Lake. He also ran an adult family home with his wife for four years prior to joining Volunteers of America.

Legally blind from childhood, Jim brings a sense of empathy for people who face challenges. He feels deeply for people who “haven’t gotten the breaks in life.” He believes that we can do more to empower people to live rich, full lives and spends his time making that dream a reality. Jim is a dedicated community activist and is an active member of the Peace and Justice Action League and serves on the boards of One World Cafe and Envision Spokane.

Jim has been a professional comedian for almost thirty years and brings a sense of humor to everything he does. In his spare time, Jim likes to bowl, watch sports on television and be involved in his community. Jim can be reached at 509.624.2378.
